Some artists are super cool, and some I don’t understand at all. I think that’s what makes art interesting and is a reason to go see some every once in awhile. My family visited the LA Art Show this weekend and I thought I would write about it because it was something different to do on a Saturday and at the same time our tickets allowed us to donate to cancer research.

Going to this event showed me that there are actually tons of events, like LA ART Show, that provide opportunities to donate to great causes. I’m an ice-hockey player myself and have been a die-hard LA Kings fan my whole life. I only recently realized what a difference the Kings make toward cancer research with their annual Hockey Fights Cancer night every November. I’ve been to the games, I’ve seen the pink jerseys, but only recently, since my mom got sick, did I understand that by attending the game and buying the gear, we’re also helping to fund cancer research.
While I’d probably rather chill on the couch in front of some Xbox, or go to a Kings game, getting downtown and out of the house was admittedly cool and I’m happy knowing our donations went to a good cause.
